Illustration Friday - Poem

Not done a Friday for ages...so when this came up I remembered I had a rejected G2 cover for The Guardian newspaper (UK) which illustrates a poem by Andrew Motion called A Man - the lettering is mine aswell!
Rejected because there were meant to be apostrophes inbetween the "Why is", but I was writing it based on an email I got from the Art Director and the apostrophes got replaced by a grammatical symbol -the semi colon " ; " -which looked like an "i" !!
There was no time to fix it before the paper went to press so...REJECT! Got paid though...

Very chilling, but I like it. I like the colors you used

Mother Mother what a poem
It's chilling and it's true
That Jill should share this loveliness, about a man so blue.

What a £$%! with the punctuation! Yes, very chilling, but wonderful piece and at least you got to share it here...
