Illustration Friday : Artificial

Artificial leg, arms...everything, these days. I heard on the radio the other day that scientists have successfully grown, from stem cells, new hip joints!
Anyway, this image was for a health column I illustrated every week for a newspaper in Glasgow. It's quite a strange one for me, don't you think? I do like its oddness though.

I saw that article! It said we'd have to grow our own; I guess that's all part of the Big Society. At 65 I don't look forward to growing my own joints although they could do with some renewing. Love your drawing style (and hello from across the Forth!).

I wouldn't mind being able to remove achy parts at the end of a long day like this fella. Great illo!

it's kind of strange for me your zigzaging lines and those dollparts that that artificial mind tries to figure out and i think your halfdoll is riding a wooden horse with no tail or it is a desk it is sitting on oh it maybe is at the hospital where at nights all those artificial bodyparts you know those subtitutions for those made out of flesh and blood all at once start to feel life inside the plastic and metal and they are night after night gathering together to play puzzle but it should be fun but the head of yours is so gloomy. maybe because of the smell and those colors that make the whole thing so grrrrr in real life and it might affect your clumsy dollparts somehow as well. i think you'd have to put some smile in it cos you are smiling too bye and well done
