Contact 27 is out NOW!
Just to say that Contact 27 landed on my doorstep last week (with a slightly smaller thud than last year)
The beautiful cover image was done by my friend and fellow lettersmith, Sarah Coleman AKA Inkymole - I think they should have made it much bigger! Still, you get to see a dps of her fab work inside...
AND if you turn to page 33 (or maybe it's page 31) you will see my page!
The images I used this year were mostly all part of a job I did for Turning Point Scotland, but I just rearranged them and added some extra bits and pieces to make it work in the Contact page template.
Will I do Contact next year? I am not sure yet...the book gets smaller and smaller and it becomes less and less obvious if it actually works as a means of self promotion. I always ask clients how they came about my work and the answer is usually "online" , or "from the emailer or postcards you sent me".
Let's see what 27 brings in and then make a decision!

I am a Guest at Gray's...
Just to let you know that on Thursday 21st April I have been invited to give a guest lecture at Gray's School of Art in Oil City itself: Aberdeen!
Here's a bit about this lecture programme that has been developed by Ian Irving:
"The Guests @ Gray’s visiting lecture programme is an important input into the continuous learning of our students and staff as a means of informing the School’s practice and research culture. The programme takes the form of a weekly lecture and question time and is open to all. It enables students and staff to encounter diverse approaches to art and design practice and research that stimulate, inform and challenge, helping to map and understand today’s professional and cultural context. The events are programmed with this in mind, and draw on the personal and professional connections made by Gray’s staff, nationally and internationally. "
I am not sure if it is just for students or open to the public when it says "open to all", but if you are in or around Aberdeen do try to come along! Contact details and info HERE
I have not quite finished putting together my talk yet, but you can be sure that drawing will be a big topic.
This image MAY appear in my slide show - but I do tend to change/alter/trash things at the last minute!
